What is Netalive.org?

Far from the maddening crowds, a place to kick back and lead an intelligent discussion in peace. We respectfully ask the braindeads to stay outside. (New here?)

Best Good All

I could rant on this topic in a general sense for hours, as I have been the victim of pointless social obligations more times than I can count; be it having one more drink at a party I don't really want to be at, or standing in the "general gifts for people you don't really know" section at Target trying to pick out a present for someone I'm obligated to buy a gift for. And of course, in Japan, there are a thousand more little tricksy obligations that aren't even the warm, worn-in social (...)

I was doing fine. i had gobs of red stars and was fairly popular on-site, and then I go to do school work for a couple of days..
AND I HAVE ONE GRAY STAR!!!!!
There is something wrong with that. My posts have never been that bad, and besides what are you trying to prove other that this sight is so cult-like that if you do anything else for a day or two you are an outcat!?
There is a serious problem with that!
If it was not for the gentoo forums lack of normal non-geek people i would stay with (...)

The other day, in another online forum, someone had the audacity to accuse me of patriotism.

Pardon me? The last time I checked, it wasn't a crime to have a little bit of national pride. Ultimately, I feel everyone should be proud of their roots- nation, state/provice/district/what-have-you, family, etc. My family is of Swedish-German-British descent, and we still follow a lot of Swedish traditions in particular and are proud of both where we've come from and where we are now. On my way to work the other day, as the bus swayed too and fro. I came to a realization that made me feel utterly hollow. If laws of reality are true then things cannot just manifest from nothing. This thought took me to another level up. Where did god ( if it be real ) come from. And so on and so forth until I came back to earth. It just kept going faster and faster and I couldn't take it anymore.
I jolted back into reality with one question in mind:
"HOW?"
Nothing else was appended onto the (...)

Yesterday was a very strange day for me. It started out, not too good like most of my days. Almost everyone was pissing the hell out of me and I just didn't want to to talk to anyone, I just felt like being alone in my own thoughts. Throughout the day, it seemed like I was getting from mad to sad, I do not understand why. Everyone kept asking me what was wrong and I said nothing of course. I don't understand why they don't understand what "nothing" means. I mean,I appreciate the fact that (...)

With it being summer and all i thought this was appropriate.

From ice cream to sex, football to nights out, i know how to enjoy myself, i know what puts a smile on my face. Theres one thing though that despite its simplicity chases away all my stress and gives me the most primitive of delights.

The sun is out, theres not a cloud in the sky. I go in to the garden, sit down with my face facing the sun and feel truly good about myself. The warmth, the light, the radiance that fill every part (...)
