What is Netalive.org?

Far from the maddening crowds, a place to kick back and lead an intelligent discussion in peace. We respectfully ask the braindeads to stay outside. (New here?)

Best Good All

You know what they say about Canadians being so darn nice? I think it might be true...

First, there was the story of the guy from New Brundswick who filled his car with guns looking to go on a killing spree, but he decided the people of New Brundswick were too nice, so he went to Toronto looking for bad people to kill. Then when he got there he decided that they were too nice also, and turned himself in to the police.

I guess that has something to do with why we're so trusting. I remember (...)

I've heard much about gentoo - lately even by a friend who has it set up on all of his mac machines (notebook and desktop computer), and is praising it into heaven because of its easyness to handle, install, customize, etc.

As far as i could find out (and was told), gentoo distro gets delivered with already all of the programs one might find useful, but stripping most of the useless clutter, so it's installed in a matter of minutes/seconds, can easily updated, and maximally wastes 600 meg of (...)

Even though I love the idea of keeping a journal, I feel that the internet is not really the place for mundane things that are kept in a journal. I'd rather take the extra time to paint a picture with words and put it in the form of a poem. This is more productive than "I saw sally today, I really liked it, my life is shit and I am like s00000 depressed... I would really like to have hot steamy sex with sally... blah". So for my next entry into what it means to be me I'd like to paint the (...)

I was invited to a friend's party who i havent seen in ages. I dont know any of her friends, so i took along Rachel. it was still early in the night so we were sober and standing round the fire talking to a guy who knew some people at our school.

Rachel and I made some comment quietly about someone doing something...i dont remember what... when the guy whirls on us saying "you're saying something mean about me aren't you!" actually, now i remember, we were considering whether or not we (...)

Speech to VFW National Convention:

"Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction."

December 6, 2002, White House spokesman Ari Fleischer
BBC article:

"The president of the United States and the secretary of defense would not assert as plainly and bluntly as they have that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction if it was not true, and if they did not have a solid (...)

A German youth mag had a feature this week where they asked 1200 people the same couple of questions. It's a nice poll that lead to many funny and interesting answers, that's why I want to try it out here.

1. One thing you would never give away?

2. What is keeping you awake at night?

3. One forbiddance you have broken?

4. The best advice you ever got from your parents?

5. What was your first sex like?

6. What is wrong with the world?

7. What is the most important (...)
