What is Netalive.org?

Far from the maddening crowds, a place to kick back and lead an intelligent discussion in peace. We respectfully ask the braindeads to stay outside. (New here?)

Best Good All

My dad has decided that the music I listen to sounds like a massive car crash...how can I appreciate his music and all the oldie classics and yet he cannot accept or appreciate what I listen to...there must be some logic behind it!

For example a favourite band of mine would be My Chemical Romance and my dad loves Gordon Lightfoot... And i can see what he loves about him and Iagree and enjoy listening to it yet apparently Gerad Way (Lead singer of MCR) has a voice like a distressed cat and (...)

As George Santayana once said:

"Chaos is a name for any order that produces confusion in our minds."

This wouldn't be far from the truth. What is randomness but a bunch of things which do not seem to have an order? It is a funny thing, randomness. We've spent years just trying to sort out the things with order from the things without, pulling the order from chaos as we come to understand it.

My brother told me once of one of his professors would claimed he could (...)

You must forgive me the following words but I am so tired and so full to overflowing with all the shit that boils inside. My life seems to be an endless circle of stupid mistakes and calculated failures flecked with just enough bright moments to believe that tomomrrow really might hold something better.

Perhaps if I keep crawling, streaks of my blood marking the path behind me, I might justfind that mytical greener grass that I've heard so much about but never seen.

A place to heal, to be (...)

Hello my never-met friends.

I need a little bit of help and know that this is usually the place to get an answer. It's like some kind of crazy knowledge fountain that I need to wash off my stains of idiocy.

I was thrown a challenge this week, to cause havoc. Now this is usually my speciality, but this one has me a little stumped.

Please reply with your finest answers to this question:

If you were given someone's full name, address and phone number, what is the most havoc you could (...)

**** This post is meant to sensibilize the population on a very important topic, and I pray that as many people as possible will read it and cherish and follow its contents ****

-- I don't want to be the "old" and "savior" lady who tells you what to do, but I just want to give some facts here; at the same time I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings or anything, but please keep reading --

Now, this is a hard post to write, but I do think that it is right for someone to do it. And (...)

First of all, you should know the relationship between my roommate and I is pretty.. odd. The typical conversation is started with a philosophical question, and the debate ends when the topic is thoroughly explored (but not necessarily answered).

So my roommate in the middle of dinner one day asks, "I think that nature is better because in nature, there are no morals." By nature, he meant that the nature course of events prior to humans inventing the wheel, etc. He believed that if a lion (...)
