Post Readability

I've thought about writing this for a while, and since it has come up in a few forums:

Here are some guidelines about readability of web pages.

I'm saying this because there are a lot of interesting posts here, but some of them are very intimidating and hard to get through because they are shaped like a brick.

I think good layout is important for two reasons:

  1. It makes text more readable.

  2. It makes you consider your readers, which is a good habit for any writer.

Basically it's considerate to make your post readable. Not like your readers will care one way or the other, but they might get bored in the middle of your post and leave.

It doesn't have to be obsessive, just put some returns and blank lines in there every now and again.

Anyway, this is just some food for thought.
