It was just the other day that I was sitting at the breakfast table with my sister and she was telling me abouth this insane dream she was having. It was about that time that I realized that I barely ever remembered my own dreams.
I find dreams ecxiting, and i just thought i might ask some of you about your dreams, so dream away! Tell me about your wildest dreams!
My craziest dreams are lucid dreams. That's when you're aware that you're asleep and you fully control your dream. It's tricky to pull it off, but it's more then worth it :D
so once it happened i started flying around, making public speeches, getting people to like me, driving expensive cars etc...Anything i wouldn't or couldn't do in real life was possible for me. I woke up refreshed and disappointed (what, over already? :D) and i didn't quite remember much from the dream, aside from the fact that it was quite enjoyable :]
"Life is a queue. You come in, hang around for a bit, get some service, then depart."
Here's a doozy. Let me know if you can't quite follow...of course, being a dream, I don't know if it is exactly meant to be followed.
After my grandmother died, I was sleeping in her bed, hugging her pillow. I opened my eyes and couldn't move. My cousin who was sleeping on the couch in the livingroom walks in from the lighted hallway and says,"Betty, are you okay?" and I mumble that I'm alright. I must have been making some sounds in my sleep. He looks at me for another second then turns toward the doorway and is gone. He didn't walk out of the room, he just dissappeared.
I try to move, but I am still immobile, and my cousin walks into the room from the lighted hallway again and says the same thing,"Betty, are you okay?" I feel like I just woke up from a bad dream and tell him that I was alright. He turns and walks out of the room, flipping off the hallway light behind him.
I listen to him walk down the hallway toward the livingroom, his booted feet clunking on the hard wood floor. He is just arriving in the living room when I hear someone knock on the front door, with 3 loud knocks, "KNOCK...KNOCK...KNOCK". I listen for my cousin to answer the door, but he seems to be ignoring the person at the door. The knocking comes again.."KNOCK...KNOCK...KNOCK".
I pull myself out of bed, no longer immobile, but I feel as if I am walking through quick sand, like I have been drugged and am trying to stay conscious as I walk toward the door. I get to the end of the hallway without flipping on the lights and I see my cousin standing in the middle of the living room, wearing his leather jacket and jeans in the dark. He looks at me and says, "Don't answer the door. It's the Blood-wraith."
I don't know what he is talking about, but am not in control of my movements while I am walking toward the door and am reaching for the doorknob. I try to resist the urge that is twisting my wrist to open the door, but the drugged feeling is still with me. I know before the door is open that I don't want to open the door, but I have to.
In the dim light on the porch, I see a blood red Emu,and behind it are two guinnea hens, of the black and white annoying basketball-bird type of guinnea hen. I put my drugged body in the opening of the door, while trying to close the door to the blood-wraith, but the giant bird just pushes past me and barrels into the house, turning the corner down the hall and running at full speed toward my grandmother's bedroom.
The guinnea hens follow the Emu into the house, turning into rolling shadows as they passed over the door frame, also turning the corner into the hallway towards my grandmother's bedroom.
I finally find my speed and run after the phantom birds, reaching my hand in front of me, yelling "NO!!!"
I open my eyes. I'm lying in my grandmother's bed, the blankets balled up in my hands and the word "noo..." just passing my lips. My grandmother is leaning over, shaking my shoulder saying,"Betty, wake up!"
I wake up. My cousin is standing at the foot of the bed wearing his pajamas, asking me if I am okay. I don't respond, I just stare at him. He repeats his question, and I finally respond,"Are you real?"
He looks at me like I am crazy and says,"Uh, yeah.."
I roll over and go back to sleep.
A week later, one of my cousins died. A month later, my Aunt died. I think the Emu represented my grandmother's death, and the guinnea hens represented the coming deaths of my other family members, that is why they were only shadows and the Emu was solid. I sometimes think they wouldn't have died so closely together if I hadn't let in the blood-wraith... but it was only a dream, right?
